Author Guidelines
Instruction for Authors
- Afriche e Orienti only accepts articles submitted via the online scholarly submission portal … Login or Register to make a submission.
- Contributions need to be original, unpublished and must not be under consideration by any other journal.
- Authors are required to comply with the Code of Ethics, which is based on the COPE and EASE ethical guidelines for authors and reviewers.
- Articles must comply with Editorial Guidelines (see below).
- Manuscripts should not exceed 8,000 words (including bibliography and notes).
- A 150-word abstract and five keywords must be submitted together with the paper. The abstract should be in English and in Italian.
- Files must be submitted in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice or RTF format.
- The font size needs to be 12.
- Figures, tables and graphs must be placed in the text and not at the end of the paper.
- Each figure, table and graph must be numbered and need to have a caption with title and reference.
- Acknowledgements should be set as an asterisked footnote attached to the title of the paper.
Editorial Guidelines
Afriche e Orienti follows The Chicago Manual of Style author-date system Author-Date: Sample Citations
Each reference in the text must correspond to an entry in the reference list at the end of the paper.
Archival and oral sources must be put in endnotes (not footnotes).

Endnotes must be numbered consecutively throughout the article and should be placed at the end of sentences and paragraphs after the punctuation mark.
After publication
After publication, it is highly recommended to authors to store their papers in their Institution’s Repository. Afriche e Orienti asks all authors to cite the articles’ DOIs with active and clickable links in every place they intend to promote or diffuse their papers.
